Human rights[edit | edit source]

(1)  It is the responsibility of Urabba Parks and each entity to respect human rights in its governance, management and operations.

(2)  A declaration of the rights of any person or body by or under this Chapter is void to the extent it is inconsistent with human rights.

(3)  A declaration of the responsibilities of any person or body by or under this Chapter, other than a declaration of responsibilities imposed under the law of a state jurisdiction, is void to the extent it is inconsistent with the responsibilities in relation to the person or body under this section.

(4)  In this section, human rights has the same meaning as in section 3 of the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011 of the Parliament of the Commonwealth.

320. Subsection (1) provides for the responsibility of Urabba Parks and each entity to respect human rights in its governance, management and operations. Subsection (2) provides a declaration of the rights of any person or body by or under this Chapter is void to the extent it is inconsistent with human rights. Subsection (3) provides that a declaration of the responsibilities of any person or body by or under this Chapter, other than a declaration of responsibilities imposed under the law of a state jurisdiction, is void to the extent it is inconsistent with the responsibilities in relation to the person or body in relation to this section. Subsection (4) provides that for the purposes of this section, human rights are those in section 3 of the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011, being the human rights recognised by the Commonwealth in international treaties.
