This section provides for a vacancy of the place of member of the House of Ordinaries where the member was absent for an entire session without permission of the House.Β  Although the structure of this section is based on the corresponding section of the Australian Constitution, the period of one entire session is based on paragraph&nbsp;46(b) of the ''Constitution Act 1975'' of the Parliament of Victoria.
