Rules and orders[edit | edit source]

Each House of the Parliament may make laws and orders with respect to:

(a)  the mode in which its powers, privileges, and immunities may be exercised and upheld; and
(b)  the order and conduct of its business and proceedings either separately or jointly with other Houses.

158. This section, based on the corresponding section of the Australian Constitution, provides for the making of standing orders by the Houses of the Parliament.
